Bathroom faucet

I want to replace our bathroom faucet in our Kodiak travel trailer. My question is this. Is the spacing between the holes standard for all RV's? Would it be best to measure it before buying? Thanks.
  • They are usually standard, just like residential faucets. We replaced ours with a nice one that had been taken out of my parents house when she re-did her bathroom.
  • no,yes.

You haven't learned you have to measure EVERYTHING when buying hardware?? :) :)
  • I just replaced my bathroom and kitchen faucets with inexpensive Peerless brand single handle faucets. They fit perfectly. I simply measured the width of the actual faucet, not the holes, and hoped for the best (which is what I got!!).

What an upgrade! I was soooo tired of the squeaky, ugly, plastic ones.

I learned the hard way that I also had to replace the hose between the pex piping and faucet because the washers were permanently compressed. I was unable to find the right washers at the local hardware store and didn't want to drive to a big box store.
  • Lavs come in standard 4" or 8" hole centers. I don't think I've ever seen anything but 4" in a travel trailer. So I'm sure a 4" will be correct. Good idea to take a gander at the bottom side to make sure your plumbing will work. They like to do weird things in a trailer that you wouldn't see in a home.
  • Depends on the age of the rig. The older the rig, the less likely it's the standard 4" - the newer the rig, the more likely it's 4".
  • You might want to look under the sink to see if it is physically possible to replace the faucet. In our rig there doesn't seem to be much room. Do you have a basin wrench?
  • I replaced both bathroom faucets in the HTT we had and the new TT. Standard residential 4" spacing, and I didn't even need a wrench. Barely a 1-beer job.
  • My bathroom faucet is something like 2-1/4". Try finding a replacement for that...
