I know I'm opening a can of worms here, but, I'm in the market for a new trailer about 20 to 24 feet in length and am having trouble determining who makes the best constructed TT's. I want something solid with a roof that won't collapse when I walk on it or fall apart when I want to occasionally take it off road boon docking. I like the idea of a roof ladder so I can access the roof when needed, but many TT's don't have them. Which leaves me to wonder perhaps the roof is not strong enough to walk on or?Any input would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance??

You can walk on the roof of almost all trailers nowadays. You order your TT with a roof ladder. Dont know why MH and 5ERs have ladders on most, and TTs dont. A cost cutter I guess.--As far as "the best TT built" I will not fall in to that trap.!!! Let me say this. I have owned 3 Ford vehicles in my life. 1 was brand new. None of them made it past 60k miles without serious mechanical snafus. However My good neighbor has 300k on his F150 never done anything exept a couple alternators/starters/and one water pump. So I have to say that Ford makes a good product, I have just had bad luck, but not everbody does.Well that scenario can be said for EVERY brand name of EVERY product on the market today.-In the TT world, I have always had good luck with Coachmen, but I can remember reading post after post of people that wouldnt walk next door to recieve a FREE Coachmen TT.Truth is MOST TTs are made about the same. Just as most vehicles are. They say AIRSTREAM is really the best. I couldnt afford an AIRSTREAM if I won the lottery, so I dont even consider AIRSTREAM. But if you have that kind of money. Check them out.As far as OFF ROAD. I think they make some OFF ROAD TTs somewhere. Do a google search.

You're right, you are opening a can of worms. I really like mine, although it is a few feet longer than what you are asking about. It really depends on how much you are willing to spend. The more you spend, generally, the higher quality unit you end up with. I chose mine because we got everything we wanted in a price we could afford and haven't seen any bad reviews on Sprinter. I chose the exterior, she chose the interior. This was the one we both agreed upon.

Thanks all for your input. I kinda like the artic fox, however they don't seem to make a unit in the size I'm looking for. I did look at Nash TT's. I believe they are made by the same company. I'm still looking ...??

I think you hsould find after you look at some you like go to U tube and watch the videos on how they are made and see if they put good wood on the roof and other construction practices. My can of worms is the Keystone line. But in saying that I will caution you that building a RV is not rocket science so which ever one you think is the best is thrown together just like the other brands are. they rush the workers so much that you will find loose screws, saw dust, and other things in the unit at no extra charge. a good dealer will do a pre delivery inspection and repair what ever he finds. but they will miss somethings you can bet on that.

I think the critical factors are, Manufacturer reputation, Layout, Construction, Cost and Dealer service. Not necessarily in that order. I've had everything from tents, pop-ups, very large rigs, small rigs and now that 2 of four kids have left the nest a medium size rig. See below..... Very satisfied so far.

Take your time, do the research and go for it.

Anything above 33ft is better handled by a 5th Wheeler. Large Caravans per se ,are dying out here, replaced by a 5th Wheeler.

A 32ft Viscount Supreme from the very early 1960's

A 37ft one from the same period.

Interesting tow Vehicle. Caravan is 32ft. Looks like the owner runs a business as well

Ahh, The world is getting so much smaller Roadrash. As you are aware, anything of any size can be sought & shipped these days.
FYI, 40 foot containers to Aus i'm told are $7,500. So I need to be able to fit my TT & with the room left over hopefully a American muscle car, prefer Dodge charger '68. Mmmm.

Get the new SRT, a much improved ride and probably, about the same price. If you need it transported to your shipment point, I'd be happy to drive.:B

Looks like a nice ride Westend & I know u where joking but, It does need to be older than 25 years so i don't have to convert to left hand drive.

Also they become surprisingly hard to tow. That is why you have a F350 Diesel towing a 22ft Caravan. The stop start nature and dirt roads dramatically increase rolling resistance.

Would agree with around 24' being maximum for much off road. Clearance and overhang become an issue even at that length. Turning radius becomes a factor as well. Maneuvering gets much more difficult as the size increases. My quad cab Ram is 4WD but it won't go where me Jeep did.
