Best tape

I would suggest one foot wide pieces of bent aluminium angle checker plate. Put some screws in where you find studs, and use lots of Sikaflex and some method to hold it all together while the Sikaflex hardens.

Eternabond tape. Make sure you follow the directions exactly.
You can get it at Walmart.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're describing, but I like the idea of the metal plate repair covered with Eternabond tape. Quick, easy, and will likely last quite a while.

The separation is at the rear of my TT and on the lower part of where the side metal meets the rear metal. Bottom of corner.

First, I would suggest to find the cause of the water intrusion. If it's from road spray, seal the areas with a sturdy solution like sheet metal, using appropriate sealers to stop further water intrusion. If the water is coming down the interior of the wall frame, seal the roof and any other possible leak areas and then, repair as above.

Trying to tape together deteriorating wood to siding or trim edges is going to drive you nuts. As the trailer is towed on the road, those surfaces are going to move and any tape is going to fail, eventually. If tape is the only solution, get some of the reinforced "gaffer" tape that is sold to repair coroplast foam panels. It is typically sold at RV dealers but you can get it online. A bit more expensive is Gorilla brand tape, which has a high bond strength.

I can't invest much money in this temp. repair. I'll probably be selling my TT in a few years. As far as a new roof. That's unbelievabley expensive about 6 thousand. The whole camper is not worth that much since it's a 2000. I just need a simple fix. Thanks to all

Metal L brackets and screws?

metal brackets are what I've been thinking about. I just need to figure out how to pull the corner together so that when traveling the metal doesn't separate more than it already is

Me Too!. Not sure you need much more metal plate than to prevent the type of movement that westend mentioned. Even just Eternabond alone might work since it will give a little, but too much movement than the issue westend described could be a problem. I would make sure the Eternabond goes at least 1 to 2 inches over the edge of the separation to get a decent holding area for the Eternabond.
