I have driven over 70K on 2 sets of Michelin LTX MS/2. Not cheap but they deliver more miles than I have ever been able to get out of any other tire.
X2
Is that a total of 140k miles on 2 sets meaning 70k a set or combined as in 35k a set?
Have you seen any dry rotting issues out of you Michelin's? I know Michelin tires run a long time and ride great but I've seen them with a lot of dry rot once they get some age on them. I had a tire rep tell me that is was because Michelin uses a natural rubber compound and all would show dry rot after a certain number of years. I don't know if its true or not but I have seen what I would call extreme dry rot on Michelin's that came factory on some vehicles.
I'm only asking because I only put about 10k miles a year on my truck and figure that if they get more time than miles on them I will be in the same shape I'm in now replacing tires with good tread but dry rotted or cracked cases. So it wouldn't really benefit me to pay for the extra cost of a Michelin only to replace them early. Dont get me wrong I'm not taking anything away from Michelin tires I know they have a good product and you get what you pay for with anything
