Weird. I really thought we were going to solve it this time.....
Kuhmo Radial 857 205R14C (2271 lb capacity, 99 mph a speed rating) for trailer use only per tire rack. Made in Vietnam.
I currently have tow max 205/75/15 c (1760 lb capacity. 65 mph speed rating).
My trailer is 7000 gvwr, weighs 6200 lbs loaded for camping and puts 5394 lbs on the two 3500 lb axles.
Those tires seem perfect. Too perfect. What am I missing here?
For those with 14 inch wheels , that Kumho 857 with 2271 # rating is my first choice .
Because you already have 15 inch wheels you can upgrade to a load range E or D tire and go to a 225/75 R 15 tire and build in some serious excess capacity for hot weather towing .
Just choose a tire size and weight rating from the tire rack charts that gives you 2271 # capacity or better .
Your weight limit will be limited by your axles and wheels but the higher weight rating of your new tires will no longer be the "weak link " .
The premium for the higher load rated tire is cheap over your OEM size and you can keep your 15 inch wheels .
