Bigfoot sewer hose storage

On my BF 9.6 two 1lb Coleman propane bottles fit perfectly in the built in sewer hose carrier. Nifty fit!

We have a similar corrugated silver hose storage compartment that goes in under my tub in my Northstar. We use a garden hose for gray (cassette for black) so don't need the stinky slinky.
I have thought about taking out the hose holder completely and making meaningful storage under there. I'd have to add a watertight seal to the door though.

My 10.4 has the same sewer hose door on the drivers side. It goes in about 16" then turns and runs aft another couple of feet. I use the type of sewer hose that collapses or expands and stays that way (a LOT better IMO than the standard). To get it to make the turn I bend the last 10" of the hose in the direction of the turn, then shove it in and it snakes around.

Does yours actually end 16" in? or does it turn a corner there?

It just ends. If it did turn right it couldn't go far. I don't know what they were thinking. I thought it could be tool storage but there's no lock on it. I could get a locking latch I suppose. Maybe the label: SEWER HOSE would keep sticky fingers away. Ehhh..that's not a very good joke! If I cut it out I need to be sure the door seals first. Propane cylinders sounds good though, easy too. Or tools and propane.

It would be the perfect location to store your money and jewelry. Who's going to go into the sewer hose compartment looking for anything valuable?

On my 9.6 Bigfoot the sewer hose storage was approx. 18 inches long and extended into the basement storage wasting a lot of space and was also on the wrong side . I noticed that on the Northern Lites they use the 4 in. square tubing for the steps to store the sewer hose, this is a much better idea than Bigfoots space waster. So I cut open the welded on end cap of the steps 4 in. tubing and installed a end cap door that can be bought at Camping world or Northern Lite dealer. I also cut the old sewer storage tube off and capped it, freeing up one or two square feet in the basement. I can also use any length sewer hose now and was limited to approx. 5 ft. of sewer hose before. If your bigfoot has the platform and steps option this maybe a option for you.

I WISH I had the platform. The hose storage on mine doesn't go into the walled off basement, it's just in the skirt void above the drain valves. I've been out prepping it for a trip this morning. Yes, 1lb. propane bottles are a perfect fit. But...I started to slide the 1st one in there with the connection end first and thought "how am I going to get this thing out?" There's nothing to grab on the bottom of the bottles, so I put 2 bottles in bottom first and can grab the threaded connection to pull them out. Still thinking about cutting the tube off.
Does anyone know of a "platform/bumper" that will fit older Bigfoots?

Yep, that is a pain. I ended up extending the tube about 6"... I can get a 10ft slinky hose in there.

I have seen some folks mount PVC tube under the camper side overhang that works pretty good if you need more than 10 ft.

I'm OK for now storing the sewer hose in the skirt. I couple the ends together to prevent massive leaks. There's enough room there for the long hose, the 5ft. extension, sewer hub adapter, and a fresh water hose.
I made a call to Princess Craft RV, a Bigfoot dealer, about the bumper/platform. They are calling Bigfoot to see if it will fit my year model.
