I have a 2012 Ram and Mopar says I can only run B5 bio and nothing higher. Now I am wondering what the other folks who drive the 2010-2012 stock trucks do. I know that some of the Midwest states mandate B10 - B15 in the summer months and B5 in the winter. Even here in Fla. some stations are carrying Bio above B5. Not to offend anybody but I would like to have responses from folks who have this truck. I know the earlier ones could run it and I know some who have deleted etc. but that is not the info I am looking for. Thanks

Find a different station if you can and make sure to add a lubricity additive. Use either the truck manufacturers additive or one like Optilube XPD, which was the top rated additive in the only test that I've seen. Optilube

I have read that bio diesel is a better lubricant than straight diesel? I don't know just what I have read. Personally I hate the idea of bio-diesel just like ethanol gas, less performance less mpg. :(

Most truck stops around here are selling B20. I was told it has more lubricity and makes your truck run quieter. I would check on a Dodge diesel forum and see what those guys think. Surprising that a 2012 truck would be limited to B5.

Biodiesel gels faster than regular fuel (even with anti-gel additives). There are ways to get around this in cold weather allowing for B20 use, but the fuel system must be designed for it. I feel running B10 in an engine qualified only for B5 in warm weather is fine but would not do it once temperatures drop into the 30's.It is true that biodiesel has better lubricity. I can even hear the difference between the current low sulfur fuel and B5 in my truck.

I was referring to labels on the pumps not trucks.

My point was they may have 0-20% bio who knows.

I disagree. I think it means that your fuel system and engine better be rated to handle B20 if you fill up there.

FWIW - I lived near Orlando for the last 17 years and have noticed that all the Murphy stations (Walmart) I visited in Florida have stickers stating that the diesel they sell can be up to B20.
