black strips on roof

Hey,

Our 2019 2500RL GD has been in storage for almost a year. We just brought it home in preparation for a trip. I noticed the roof is in decent shape, however there are strips that are darker. I guess this is where the roof trusses are?

Anyone familiar with this? Cause for dark strips?

No trees where it was stored.

Thinking of washing the roof. What should I use?

Perhaps a little overboard here......I wash the roof and entire trailer every 2 months then apply 303.

Recently sold a 2009 Starcraft trailer that looked brand new 11 yrs later.

So naturally I would recommend washing the roof as preventative maintenance.

Probably the roof cross members (aluminum?) causing condensation on roof allowing mildew to form.

Like others have said don't bother with trying to clear it off. I don't recommend scrubbing any RV roof.

Probably the dark strips are caused by condensation forming along the roof trusses. They will stay damp longer than the rest of the roof and attract more dirt/dust than the roof.

Murphy's oil soap is often used on RV rubber roofs. There are other products available.
When you wash/scrub the roof you are removing some of the white coating.

Washing the roof for what purpose other than for maintenance...caulk, Heng’s etc.?
