Booth dinette

I wouldn't expect the dealer to absorb the cost of that change. The floor plan is set for that model from the manufacturer and the dealer is pricing out a custom modification to that trailer. It's like buying a new truck and expecting the dealer to upgrade to nicer wheels at no charge.

The table is screwed to the floor. The chairs have belts attached to the floor.

We have decided to leave the table and chairs for now and see how it goes. Maybe we will end up liking them after all. Who knows.

If the dealer is ordering the booth from the manufacturer then there's shipping +the booth cost. $500 is pretty cheap.

JMO but go sit in a similar booth for 45 mins and see if your butt hits the plywood support under it. I've never found a booth that I could sit in for more than 30 mins. I'm not heavy either. Actually a light weight. Most foam used in booths is cheap.

99% of the time a free standing dinette is an option for more money. I would negotiate a deal with the dealer. He should give you something for your FS table. They can sell that to someone. Most RV shops I've been around have a back room with these things.

Just like any other change the buyer would like made, the price is negotiable. I would not expect the dealer to switch them for free, but I would try to work the price down as much as possible.

If it is not the setup that is on the lot then it is a "change" - upgrade or downgrade is immaterial and in the eyes of the beholder. The dealer does not have to do this for free, especially if labour that exceeds a nominal amount (e.g. 15 minutes) is involved.

I would pay the $500 if I were you and get on with the camping. Either that or find another floorplan.

On my TT the table and chairs were a $375.00 addition Booth was standard.
As others have mentioned you probably should not expect a dealer to take his proffitt and pour it back into a revision. The alternative is to buy a unit with what you want in it, and negotiate the price from there.

I would never expect a dealer to provide hours of labor and appropriate materials for free. Do you work for free? The dealer's service department employees don't.

Isn't a booth dinette like a downgrade, no?

If you get more storage out of the booth then it's a upgrade, no?

Unless the dealer agreed for that before the deal was made, I'd say the dealer has no obligation to do that for you.. And $500 sounds about right to me.. :)

We had not bought the trailer at that time and asked that the table/chairs be changed to a booth dinette. We were told it would cost $500 plus labor. Isn't a booth dinette like a downgrade, no?

It may be a style downgrade, but there still labor involved. Why would you expect the dealer to absorb those costs?
