Brake controller, which brand?

Hi all,
Heading out tomorrow to check out a new tt. Having appropriate hitch and wiring installed today.
Dealer suggested a Prodigy 3 proportional brake controller for my 2016 Highlander.
I know nothing about controllers, so I am asking for help from anyone, as I see many different brands out there.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help
Steve

Yup, go with the P3. We had an original Prodigy for 9 years and loved it. Were going to upgrade to a P3 when we bought our new TT but ended up getting a truck too and it had a built in controller.

Got a P2 and have used it for several years, no problem what so ever with it...P3 should be outstanding.

Why recommend that controller when it is no longer made or available, and has not been, for quite a few years? :R

DITTO.

The Jordan hasn't been made for quite a few years.

I've had a Tekonsha P3 on my RAM 1500 for 2 years for my Winnebago travel trailer. I don't think you can beat it for the money.

My P2 performed great, only reason I got rid of it was my TT has integrated brake controller.

I bought a Prodigy when I bought my TT. The P3 had just come out, but I bought the one that all the reviews said was rock solid....and it's been rock solid. I just upgraded my TV to one with an integrated controller which seems to work just as well, but I've never regretted getting the Prodigy. FWIW

P3, yes. For the money this is the best one.

I have a P2. It's 11 years old, has been used with 2 different trailers, and 3 tow vehicles. It still works perfectly. The Prodigy brake controllers have a lifetime warranty.
