Well it's time for new front brakes on the truck. 2004 Silverado 1500 5.3 ext cab.

I've put GM on a few times over the years, but wanted to get recommendations for something better. We live in relatively flat lands but I want to get this done asap before heading out to the mountains.

Appreciate the advice.

I like NAPA's premium rotors and Wagner Thermal Quiet pads. If you can wait a few day for shipping, you can get good pads much cheaper thru mail order than at your local auto store.

If ASAP is today, then go to ______ (insert favorite auto parts store) and be done with it.
If you got a week, order some high perf pads like Hawk, EBC, etc.
while I think, or know, a lot of hi perf parts are gimmicks, good brake parts are noticeably better. Not magic, just better.
But I could be blinded by having ceramic pads on my vehicles, and not having to scrape the brake dust off with a spatula! Lol

IMO Most any "permium" grade will be better than OEM's.
