Brand/type of caulk to use

Husband is cleaning our Dutchman 2005 camper. He is asking for info on best brand/type of caulking to use to fill gap between roof and ??gutter. He says it is showing wear and it appears that pieces could fall out, and it would allow water to get in.

Sorry this is so vague. I am not sure what these parts of the camper are called. If you need more info, I will drag him back in here to answer!!!

Thanks!
  • do not use self leveling it will run down the wall.they make a dicor for vertical ken
  • This question gets asked about twice a week in some area of the Forum so there are multiple threads about the right caulk.

Dicor, Proflex, Geocel 2300, and other polymer sealants are the best choice for RV's. They have the bond strength and elasticity for the job.

FWIW, I used Eternabond tape on the joint you referred to on my roof. I also caulked and sealed every joint, window, door. etc.. When I did a pressurized leak test following this work, the only areas that were perfectly sealed were the areas where I used Eternabond tape. There were a few small pinholes in areas where caulk was used.

    Good luck with your roof!
