Brought home our AF990 this weekend!
Hey all!
This weekend my girlfriend and I made our return trip to Truck Camper Warehouse, this time to take delivery of our new 2018 Arctic Fox 990. A quick word about TCW: Our experience at TCW overall was very good. Having some experience in sales myself, I was relieved to find their dealership was the epitome of "no pressure". It's somewhat unconventional, compared to what most of us are used to when entering a dealership. I'm sure everybody has experienced getting the "hard sell" from a salesman who hasn't taken into consideration the wants and needs of their customer. Perhaps we were an anomaly in that senese, because we had already narrowed our search down to just two of the AF models TCW had in stock. But nonetheless I did overhear some of the other conversations with their other customers who were fresh to the TC market, and I really have to commend the guys there for their no fluff, cut to the chase attitude. There is definitely something to be said about this place.
So, Saturday we arrived around 12:30 for our 1 o'clock delivery. Our salesman Charlie gave us the full walk-through of the camper explaining everything from top to bottom. This was good, because although we've owned an RV before (98 Winnebago Class C) there were some things particular to truck campers and our specific model that I didn't know. After that we loaded the camper up on the truck, put air in the bags and tires and we were on our way.
After a quick stop at Cracker Barrel, which seemed appropriate, we continued a few hours south to Catskill NY which is about half way between us and them. We Pulled in to a campground around 9:00 just to have somewhere to stop and rest for the night. I reserved a spot at a campground simply for the added comfort of having water and electric hook up. In the future we're certainly going to take advantage of our ability to boondock and dry camp, but for the purposes of our first night in our new RV, the hook ups were worth it.
