Bunk end problem

2013 Jayco 23b. We never use the front bunk. It was opened at the PDI and once since then. Yesterday we went to open it up and it was stuck. We are miles from home so I did not force anything. Has anyone else experienced this? How much force can use and not tear the seals? What can I lube the seals with to prevent this in the future?
  • I set up a ladder today and pried gently, opened right up no seal damage.
  • My Jayco is about 10 years old and the bunk seal still sticks. Just give it a good yank and it will come down, been doing this for years and have never damaged a seal.
  • Our campers front bunk is always stuck. Slight bump and it frees. Camper faces southerly exposure for 6 months of the year. November thru April it sits under the side covered patio of my parent's outbuilding.
  • Having not been open in a long time most likely the gasket is what is stuck. Have some one help you and just take it slow.
  • I have a 2008 jayco, never seen it stuck that bad. But I have sworn that I released the latches all the way only to find out I have not.
