Here's a picture of Cadillac's new EcoBoost errr I mean new twin turbo, DI V6 engine.
Wonder how long will it take GM to put this under the hood of a truck?

Wonder why Cadillac didn't copy the ED?
Doesn't anyone remember when Cadillac came out with their 4-6-8 engine several years ago?
That one came out with huge hype talk of incredible gas mileage savings and just the right amount of power when needed...and was just as quickly put back to bed never to be heard of again.
Reference the 8-6-4 I think you meant to say "three decades ago" as in cica 1981. Never to be heard from again? It was a pioneer in cylinder deactivation that we have in many engines now. Did not work well in 81 I will give you that, but the technology is certainly relative today.
Remember it well Displacement on demand (DOD) those that owned one called it DUD.
Cadillac has come light years from converted Cavilier's to what they offer today.
