I don't know.....I sure do miss leisurely driving down the road and then
mashing on the gas pedal and hearing that dual carb open up.
Instant horse power and the great 'sound' of the increase of power.
When did Cadillac offer a dual carb option? I had a 64 Buick Wildcat that had dual 4 bbls.
The Cadillac V8 had single 4 barrel carbs in the '50's, but had dual quads ( 2 x 4barrel carbs) on the '57-'58 Eldorado and if I recall correctly there was a three cab setup...3 x 2 barrel carbs available in '59 for the '59 Cadillac. Think it was an option, with a single 4 barrel the normal state of affairs.
GM started offering multiple carbs on Chevy small block (2 x 4 bbl.), 348 W series (3 X 2 bbl.), Olds J2 option....3 x 2bbl. and Pontiac...3 x 2 bbl....in the mid to late '50's.
Think Buick in the early '40's had the first dual carb setup...called it the compound carb... 2 X 2 barrel...on their straight eight.
Going by memory, so I might be off a bit, but not too much.
