Can Iinstall an electric ignitor for oven

My wife and I just got a 2016 Mallard M27. It has the same stove as our previous trailer. That means getting in the floor to ignite the oven pilot light. IS there a way to install a electronic ignition for the oven burner?
  • yes. do a search and you'll find multiple threads with pictures of the install.

    One of DW favorite updates.

If room is a problem, the igniter can be mounted next to the stove. There was a pic posted here once of someone who did it that way.
  • For what it's worth, mine and most of the pictures of are Atwood units, they may have more room. I got mine from Lowes or amazon or ebay. I used a step bit to enlarge the hole in the sheetmetal.

  • Welcome to the forum :) You will find most things you can think to ask have been covered before using the search tool but it can also be daunting to dig through results.

This is a mod I plan to make too, the igniter I purchased looks like it may be too big for my application but I haven't confirmed it yet. Here is a good write up someone did:

Here is the ignitor I purchased along with some heat tape to wrap wire leading into the oven:

I'm going to try and get it done this week, I'll let you know how it goes.
