Nearly every auto parts accessory supplier has a MAP policy, so do sporting goods companies.

Go to the SHOT show or SEMA and talk to all the manufacturers/suppliers there.... they nearly all have MAP policies for the people that sell their products, here's a good video:

Another place that used to have lower than MAP pricing is Mayberry Sales.

The Honda 2000 watt generator is so sought after in the greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island areas, that you have to pay almost new price for 'like new' used ones (less the tax, of course...). Here's an example of what people are posting for them...

He calls it 'like new'. In the darkest photo, you can see that the case is cracked in the upper left side. It looks like it's been dragged behind his ATV. The ventilation holes are full of mud.

Yet he says it's never been used, and is asking $1200 (Can).

We'd be a way better off, buying a new one (and paying the 12% tax...). So we'll get the warranty, and sell it for $1200 or so down the road, when we sell it.

We just got our first smart phone and I loaded a dB sound level meter app into it. I'll check my Onan's sound level with the Onan inside the RV's cabinet at 10 feet with around a half-load on it. I'll bet it's close to, or less than, a Honda EU2000i's 59dB when the Honda is sitting out in the open delivering it's full continuous load rating of 1600 watts.

Used on craigslist because so many are selling them. Because they went out and bought a Champion 3100 for less and will run the whole rig. 🙂

So this is the route I ended up taking. Northern Tool ,899 with free shipping, no tax in my state, and a 50 dollar gift card. Plus I spent an extra 101 dollars and recieved a second 50 dollar gift card. Good deal.
Thanks to all for your help and Geoboy for pointing out that the Honda 2000 will run the RV 13500 BTU AC with a mod to the AC called Micro-Air. Cool product I was unaware of. Hence the value of asking what might be an obvious question on this forum 🙂
