Chrysler cutting Warranty

It says the change doesn't apply to Fiat, Alfo Romeo or diesel powered models. I wonder if that means trucks with a Cummins and Ecodiesels or European cars with a diesel engine.

They are following the lesser brands like GM. it sounds as if the Cummins will still have it`s 100k mile warranty. I`ve never known anyone other than GM owners to need more than a basic warranty.

Will not the warranty be in line with Ford and GM?

I guess my experience is substantially different than yours.

let's see. 6 GM vehicles over the years, each one went 150K + miles, NONE ever were in the dealers shop for any warranty or repair work.

My Chysler's another matter. every one ended up with major warranty repairs, and expensive work needed after the warranty expired. and I got rid of all of them before 75K miles.

And GM will continue the 100K warranty on it's diesel power train.

I too had GM products which cost me a pile of money for repairs as well. So I got rid of em as well.

Matches the Ford warranty. Ford has had the 5 year/60,000 mile power train warranty on their diesels for some time and some people don't realize it. Including some on this forum

yes, the Chryslers were power train issues, but it was out of warranty based on time, not mileage and they weren't willing to accomidate. 2 transmissions were amongst the failures.

What would be interesting is to see what each mfg has for expenses for warranty cost/vehicle sold. But I'll bet that is pretty highly guarded info.
