Cleaning brush between cab and camper

Ok, what is the best, coolest, cleaning brush for washing in-between cab and underneath camper? I've got about 3 inch clearance and a regular size brush doesn't fit because when the pole handle is screwed in (puts brush at angle that no longer fits)

What works best for you?

This is what I got http://images.psndealer.com/dealersite/images/cruiseamerica/vp1477670_1.jpg

Not a regular Class C, more like big camper type thing. SO far a rag wrapped around broom stick has worked best, But there must be something better.

Thanks
  • Why would you wash between the cab and the camper? Nobody can see in there.

You could try fastening a brush for cleaning refridgerator coils and using that.

    Good idea

Till the bugs build up really thick and then it takes a lot of work to get them off. This year going to try to keep cleaner (some how), in order to find out if it is easier to keep clean in the long run.
  • I have one of THESE that I use to get into tight spots for dust but one day I used it to wipe off the roof of my Class C, in between the cab roof and the cabover, it fits there because the handle goes into the end. I don't know if it would go behind your cab though. Just a thought.
  • I have about 6-inches of clearance between my cab and overhead. This makes it easy to wash between the cab and TC, especially between the rear of the cab and front wall. This area had the most bugs, with the TC raised or lowered. It is frequently argued you loose MPG if the TC is raised, I did not, but it is easier to wash the TC/truck.

For over five years I experimented with raising and lowering my TC, using various materials between the bed of the truck and TC. My commute (work) was over 250 highway miles round trip, with maybe an additional 30 miles in town. I made this commute winter, summer, wind and rain. It included about 40 miles of marshland highway. I fueled at the same station every time. I checked the MPG every trip. It never was less than 11.5 MPG, or more than 13.5 MPG. Actually, it was almost always 12.6 MPG. I could never increase or decrease the MPG by raising or lowering my TC.
  • How about buying a normal brush, and cutting it to fit? I haven't tried it because I just now thought of it.
  • I use a Shiwala car wash mop, I dont know where to get one now.

Would a paint roller with a long handle work perhaps?
It would allow you to roll the mud (bugs and dirt) in to a more compact form. If you used a long nap fuzzy roller, and modified it to not roll, it could do a pretty good job.
  • Not on camper but our Ranger with a fiberglass shell. Use a toilet roller, 1" dia pad, 28" reach handle, mostly to wash the windows. Holding at a slight angle the roller pad will slide and not roll. Or bend the end of frame so it slides at angle. Probably need a handle extension but Ive never washed camper on truck.
