Coachmen 261 bh Mine finally arrived 2018

We too are going on another long trip with ours, we,re headed up north to upstate NY.

Hi lawrosa, Yes mine has a heat duct in the front of the couch. ( 4 total) And my furnace is a 24btu. It works really good. We,ve been out in 15deg. weather and was toasty as can be. I have to open the roof vent and the bedroom window or the windows will steam over.

Congrats on the new camper ! Looks great....enjoy the trip to Florida.

Are you happy with the build quality of your unit? I've read some posts here as of late with quality control issues with coachmen and forest river, but I'm sure they all are pretty much the same unless you step up to airstream, nash, etc.

For my own record can you elaborate on your bad experience with keystone was?

It may help me down the road if I ever need warranty work..

Build quality is great as far as Im concerned. If I had the money I would probably be looking at outdoors RV, but I really need a bigger truck when and if I upgrade down the road.

Maiden voyage believe it or not is Florida Disney in 3 weeks. 4 days there then a leisurely 2 weeks home through the east coast to the smokey mountains.

no trade. They wanted to give me 2k for my 2004 249qb. I sold it privatly for 4k..

Yes OTD price.

They were listing these for 12999 toward end of year.

NJ couldn't beat their price. I went to the two dealers in NJ and they

1. would not order me a full wall unit
2.were 2000 bucks more then keystone rv mega center..

My unit is missing this vent... A search of 261 bh units its kind of random. Some have the vent, some dont...

And do I want that vent???It would seem without it air will push more to the farthest area, the bunk and bath area..

I could probably see the writing on the wall that the master will get super hot as the furnace is directly opposite the duct in the master...

Hey blueridge I have a question for ya..

I find it odd that I only have 3 heating ducts. One in master, one near bunks and one in bathroom.

But online for the 16,s 17,s and such I see a heating duct at the face of the couch.. Mine dont have that.

I asked the dealer and they didnt know. Is it a way to save mony?

I can add one easy but maybe becuase the furnace is under the couch it gets hot in that area??

The t stat is on the wall.

I wonder how this will warm in the winter.

My 2003 24 ft coachmenb had 4 and a 24k btu furnace. That thing would heat you out but worked well in cold weather.

We got caught out in 20f weather and we stayed warm. No hook ups too.

This new unit has a 35k btu heater.. Just wondering if I should add the duct.. Seems like it was an error or thats how they are doing them now..

Im going to search RVT .com and look at pics of 2018's to see if they have the duct there..

Mike, looks great. Glad you had a safe pull back home. My wife and i really liked the 261 bh at the hershey show last year. It's hard to beat it for the price, that's for sure
