Connecting cell phone booster to TV antenna

Hey all. I am curious if anyone has tried connecting their cell phone booster from their truck to the powered antenna in their travel trailer. It LOOKS simple enough, but I'm wondering if it will make a difference. The connections aren't the same size coaxial, and I have to install a 12v outlet to power the booster, but that seems straight forward enough. Thoughts?
  • Cell phone antennas require a particular length antenna depending on which company carrier you are with. I used the antenna that came with Wilson(now We Boost), it has about a 10 foot long cable and proper connector. They require about a 6 inch diameter magnetic base to hold the antenna for ground plane. I used a small old stainless saucepan that was magnetic. Don't forget to take it down when you travel or make something else permanent.
  • Your powered TV antenna has a built-in signal amplifier that only works in one direction (incoming signals), and only amplifies a specific range of frequencies (none of which are the same as the cell phone bands).

Not only will it not work - but it may also damage your cell phone booster or the amplifier in your TV antenna.

    Can't be done.

That's like taking a CB and trying to connect it to a cell phone antenna.

Two completely different frequencies, which require different antenna characteristics
