Bucky - we took it to a spring shop to have them do it. I have heard it's not too bad you buy the dexter kit and then it takes some welding from what I've heard. We didn't have the capability to get the axles off the ground or a welder. Most dealers will do it for a few hundred bucks. For the size of our trailer we thought it would be easier to have someone else do it.
It's a good thing we did it though we had an equalizer that the bushings were shot in and had to be replaced.
