So yesterday heading home from the grocery store I see a truck pulling a trailer. I always look at this style of trailer closely because it is the same as the first travel trailer we owned, thinking that one day I may see the one we owned.So I drop off the stuff I bought and head back out to see if it is still downtown. Our trailer had some little dimples on the driver side so that is what I always look for. I find it parked on the main street. I stop on the other side and my first sight is confirmed. This is in fact the first trailer we owned. We sold the trailer in 2004. Had a little chat with the current owners and bid farewell to the trailer once more.

Looks like it's still in good condition. :C

That's pretty neat. I often wonder what became of some of the vehicles I've sold.

Sweet story. It must be satisfying to know your little old trailer is still bringing many great camping adventures to other families.

I know exactly where my old 2001 StarCraft Gemini went.... Still in my driveway after selling it to my brother! We have spent the last few weeks getting it gussied up for him. New brakes, repaired some of the damage from the towing accident, new safety chains w/ retaining clips (old ones were a bit too long and drug enough over the last 14 years to have a "thin" link), replaced the fresh water fill, power plug, and external gas ports, bought a polisher and cut the oxidation from the fiber glass camper roof, then waxed it to a high gloss, replaced the Shure pump head, as the old one was getting weak and painted the trailer tongue and stabilizer jacks. Looks almost new! He should get many more years out of it!

There are some airstream owners on this site that swear box trailers only last 5-7 years and then must be junked. It was a nice dream you had but again, according to what the AS guys say, you must be delusional ;)FYI, that is awesome your, not owned by you, older TT is still on the road and looks great!

Nice, you really knew what you liked. Along the way, the cost went down and it likely collected a few upgrades.

Fast forward 2 years and I found the same brand and floor plan used at a dealer 200 miles away. We went to look at it and commented it looked exactly like the one we looked at before and proceeded to buy it.

We took it home and found paperwork from the dealer we originally looked at that model. Curiosity got the best of me so I call the original selling dealer and they confirmed that they had only sold one of them confirming that we bought the same trailer we looked at 2 years prior.

It would be 'cool' to see 30yrs from now our TT' s of today on the road :h
Hmmm now that I think about it maybe not, they don't last week after leaving the dealers let alone 30 yrs!

I've sold all my old TT to friends of mine so they could go camping with me. I have slightly lost track of my 2nd TT but, last I heard some different friends of mine had bought it. I don't know them as well and don't have their number so I will wait to see if I see them camping with it next summer.

Last I heard (read), the previous owner of that truck is suing AutoNation.

That's awesome! I had a similar experience when a guy knocked at my door and said he thought that her used to own my '75 Trans Am. We went outside and he showed me the tail lights and where he drilled tiny holes in each corner because he said they would collect condensation. Must've been so cool for him!

By the way, I own currently own a '74 Prowler :B

About 15 years ago we traded in our first PU and upgraded to a larger one. The dealer was about 20 miles north of us. A few months later my wife and I were walking around the other end of our large subdivision and lo and behold I saw our old PU parked in the driveway of one of the townhouses! I didn't think to knock on the door and ask the owner. I was afraid if there was something wrong with it I didn't want to get blamed. LOL

Very cool. On the flip side of that, we were at a state park several years ago in our Trail Harbor. A young lady in her mid twenties came running up all excited. She had found her daddy's old trailer. She could tell because there was a perfect ring in the door skin where the furnace had disfigured the fiberglass. It was a great find for her.

It is kind of cool to run into something you used to own. My wife and I were camping and a few sites down was a car that I thought was the one she traded in a few years earlier. She didn't think it was,but a closer look at it as we walked the dogs revealed the scratch on the rear bumper from a close encounter with a rock. I didn't make any mention that I was right,hense we are still married.
