Look at the Falken wildpeaks A/T3W tires they are great tires. I had Coopers on my last truck and was not happy with them
What was the not happy with them. ? It seems no matter what tire , they don't seem to make everyone happy ,some loved them ,some hated them .
What I found that really surprised me is the Firestone Transforce ,they came OE on my truck, other then they were shot at 28K they were okay . Most that had them experienced the same results . But I have read when the Transforce is brought up how crappy they are ,some just love them, and wouldn't have anything else .
So I am always curious when I hear not happy . I can say that to some extend my present tires the Toyo's AT2's as expensive as they are , not overly happy with them . I thought maybe I would see a bit better mileage out of them . Other then that they were quiet ,handled well ,and never got out of balance . But my truck went thru the OE's pretty quick, Toyo's did better then that, they are my second set on this truck. If the next set do better or the same as the Toyo's then I know that's what I will have to live with .
The set I had was hard to keep in balance, I had to balance them every time I rotated them. If I did'nt they would vibrate.
The other thing was that when they were about half way worn the rubber compound seemed to change, they seemed to get hard, it was really noticeable on wet roads. They also started to cup and get very noisey.
As I said some like them ,some don't . Its been more favorable reviews than not. How long has it been since you bought the Coopers . The ones I am thinking about came out in 2018 , the AT3 XLT . I see your truck is a 2016 ,just wondering if it wasn't just the AT2, or 3's , you said your previous truck in your other post ??
That seems odd having to rebalance after rotating, you would think if they needed balancing would not matter what position they were in . Years ago I took the truck in for rotating ,and I asked to have them rotated ,and balanced . The owner of the shop I have been going there to this day for some of my tires ,he asked me do they need to be rebalanced , I said no ,I just thought you were supposed too . He said they are wearing fine ,do they feel out of balance ,I said no . He told me leave them alone .
I can't remember the last time I had a set of tires rebalanced , I don't even bother to have the shop rotate anymore ,I do all my own rotating . I would rather not have them put an air gun to my wheels . I have watched too many of them hit those lug nuts with the air gun , and then watched them go thru the motions of torquing , and it was obvious those lug nuts were not moving , already over torqued . All they were getting was the click .I cross my fingers when I get new tires .
