cotter pin size for 1 inch spindle?

This is regarding my boat trailer, but I'm sure folks here can help. I'm in the process of replacing bearings on my boat trailer and need to buy a new cotter pin at lunch today. I'm at work and forgot to bring the old pin with me. What size and length cotter pin typically is used for a 1 inch spindle? Thanks.
