Cover for Truck Camper

Dont expect a waterproof cover with Calmark. The problem I had is it allowed too much water to seep thru and collect under the cabover and at that point the cover would belly up with water. Of course that part of the cover appeared to be waterproof and held the water. Sold it and put up a metal carport.

I have a Goldline, 2 yrs. now and am very happy with it. If the TC is going to be off truck for longer than 3-4 wks., I keep it covered, so it's used a lot. Amazing how much cleaner it stays. It has 3 big zippered panels for access,both sides and rear. It has 3 straps w/ quick connects to keep it nice n snug. Heavy duty marine fabric shows NO sign of wear at all. This is only the 2nd cover I've had, MUCH happier with it than the Tyvek one I had previously. I also use my roof rake to minimize the amount of snow that sit's on it.

I went through a number of ADCO covers, lasting a maximum of 2 years. The sun seemed to be what gets them. Then I paid 3x as much for a Calmark which is in a whole different class. Second year now but it looks like it will last at least 3x as long, if not considerably longer. The downside is that it is heavy and therefore harder to R & R.

I have been using a standard ADCO Aqua Shed cover from Camping World for three winters now (6-7 months each winter). It has no signs of ripping, tearing, or wear. I place tennis balls over the rain gutter spouts and a ratchet strap wrapped around the cabover area to secure the excess fabric and make sure everything is snug. I have my camper stored next to a small shed to help keep the wind off of it, I think wind is the biggest threat to wear and tear.

Take a look at CalMark Covers. They're custom made and very well made. Mine fits perfectly. Pricey but they use Sunbrella fabric and are reinforced throughout.

Is there such a thing as a good quality cover that actually holds up? I know a lot of people with RVs and been on this site a long time, and I have yet to find someone who has had a positive long term experience with a cover. The best ones seem to last one and a half winters, then start shredding at the corners.

The best camper cover is a permanent structure.

I'm supposed to receive my cover from Camping World today. I don't have the snow load you might however it's going to rain sometime and we get a lot of pine needles with sap falling from the trees. I also lost the graphics on my previous 5th wheel and want to protect my camper as much as I can. The downside is mine is a side entry 11'6" and the typical off the shelf covers are all back door accessible. I can report back to the quality and fit if you're interested.
