Covering rv and solar panel

I have a cover for my travel trailer but am not sure I should use it because it will cover the solar panel. Should I just take the battery off and trickle charge it at home?

I have solar panels and I also cover the trailer. But you do need to decide what to do with the battery. Now, just because the panels are NOT covered does NOT mean you will not get any solar charging. Many covers are transparent or at least don't block all IR and solar panels are senstitive to IR as well. In my case with a tyvek cover I still get 1-2 amps of charging current on a sunny day with the trailer covered. But in the winter we don't get many sunny days. I also have a port for portable panels so I have one portable panel hooked in to keep the batteries charged when covered.
