Creek Side vs. Black Rock

We are shopping for a new travel trailer and have narrowed down our search to 2 models: The Black Rock 19-B, the Creek Side 20-FQ. As far as I can tell, these models are virtually identical except for the exterior graphics and interiors. Both models are built by Outdoors RV which appears to have a great reputation for construction quality. Any thoughts or insights would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Good point. The Creekside has insulated exterior shower doors, compartment doors, etc. The Black Rock doesn't have insulated doors. The Creekside has "slam latches" on large exterior compartment doors, the Black Rock has the old style annoying multi-latch (one keyed, one or more unkeyed) design.

  • They do look identical. Even the cabinetry and cushions. THe inside stuff looks just like our Timber Ridge in fact.

Only diff I see in the specs is 100# more dry weight in the Creekside (and 100# less payload). 100# better insulation or build quality?

A very nice floorplan for that size trailer.
  • The Creekside is differentiated in many small aspects over the Black Rock. Nicer cabinetry on the Creekside. Raised panels on the refrigerator on the Creekside and flat panels on the Black Rock. Better tires and wheels on the Creekside (although for 2014 they may have brought them to parity). Extra skylights on some of the Creekside models. Creeksides all have shock absorbers, Blackrock doesn't, at least on the models I've seen.

Creekside has options for double insulated windows and solar panels; Blackrock doesn't. Basically the same floorplan with lots of little extras and options. The frames and wall build quality should be the same for both of them.
  • Best one will be the one with floor plan that works for you, and, the one that is maintained the best.

You can buy the best quailty trailer and let it sit. In a short period of time, it will be in worse condition than an entry level unit, that is well maintained.
  • I would also look at Northwood products. Oh understand same family different plants
