Seriously?!? Why do you always have to out of your way to piss on our trucks?

I never said it wasn't new tech, I just said it was the first in the HD pickups.

Problem is they are very much a niche product outside NA, but I do LIKE the fact they are now introducing more variety into the US offerings

Give it a rest. You are probably one of the only people on this site that cares what the pick up truck market is like outside of the US. And that isn’t what this thread is about.

Enough is enough.

Hey, don't forget about us here in Canada! In fact, the Ram/Cummins is the top selling diesel pickup here! :B

I took the Cummins CMEP plant tour where they make all the 6.7's for the RAM trucks. It was a great tour and well worth the time.

Here is the FIRST Dodge RAM truck with a Cummins engine. A couple other cool pics.

I bought a brand new 93 back in the day. It was a gorgeous truck that was something like 23 years old in design and it showed it. It was a 2wd - buddy had a 4WD with its leaf front suspension and rode like the little red wagon you had as a kid. Seriously, it could loosen fillings and leave a bruise on your shoulder where the seat belt would keep jerking you back down in the seat - and that was on a smooth highway.
Also, I couldn't believe a brand new truck wouldn't have a lock up TC when my previous truck, an 82 Chev. did! Another thing most don't know about that auto was that it had an aluminum planetary! It was doomed from the start.
Still, I got 106K of trouble free service out of it.

Agreed 1st Gens were pretty much complete bags of c rap with a Cummins engine.
If Dodge hadn’t exploded on the market with the 2nd Gens like they did, they’d have been dead!
I wasn’t even brnad loyal and in hi school I had a fleet of trucks to repair and maintain and them POS 80s Dodges were absolute chit!

We bought a year old 93 in 1994. It had a lot of turbo lag, so I switch out the turbo exhaust housing for a waste gated 12 CM housing. That made the truck drive much better. It suffered from lack of a lock up torque converter, exhaust was not effective and caused a lot of tranny temp issues, along with weak service brakes. Other than that we enjoy the truck until the summer of 2001, when we purchased a new 2001.5 RAM Cummins.

Before you ask, yes Banks sold me an exhaust brake for it, without telling me it would be basically useless.

Give credit where credit is due. At least he is consistent. Although he did leave out how much tougher the Cummins would need to be to survive outside of the North American market.
