Detailing

So...... We've been on the road now for two weeks and so far driven 3300 miles...... The insides of the TV and TT are neat and clean. The windows of the TV get washed at gas stops. The outsides...... OMG!!! Are covered in road dust, dirt and mud!!! I love Colorado but this is one dusty state with lots of unpaved roads!!! LOL I don't think any of my vehicles have ever been this dirty.... No, I'm not washing them till we get home.

It makes me tired just reading about how much washing/waxing/detailing some of you do! :D

When heading out wash the windows & mirrors on the TV and quick wipe down inside the TT. Once we get home the TV & TT get washed/cleaned inside and out. TV exterior gets clay bar and waxed twice a year(before and after winter). I do love seeing them shine but can't stand putting in all that work and being wasted after an hour down the road.

We clean ours every other weekend as we are actively using our RV.

I store my 26 ft. bunkhouse inside and try to clean it before every outing. Now if it's raining the day before then I won't be able to. I try to keep my vehicle's clean and as most everyone knows on here you can tell when someone takes pride in there vehicle's and those that don't.

^^^^ and this. To add to those comments, I call it "pride of ownership".
I grew up poor, but the old man still had us kids keep the yard mowed, and showed us how to keep things fixed and cleaned up around the place. It taught me that you can still keep things nice and be proud of what you have, even if it isn't much.
So yes, these days, my trucks are clean inside, waxed outside, same with the camper....even the horse trailers are clean and washed and dried thoroughly inside after use.

LMAO!!! I just talked about my car, trucks and TT... I'm the same way with my boat, motorcycles, jet skis, kayaks, hell even my bicycles!!! My house too.... But believe it or not I'm a pretty calm and laid back kind of guy. I love having all the kids, grandkids, and friends around. We all share and we all play every chance we get. Im not fastidious while we're using them, just before and after! Yeah, I know I'm nuts But I'm funny and lovable too!!!

There is nothing wrong with taking care of a vehicle.

On the other hand if you count the thousands of hours spent washing your vehicles at a fair wage, I feel that I come out much further ahead by not doing all that work.

A good friend is very meticulous about caring for his vehicles. He is always cleaning, polishing, and obsessing over every detail. When he does replace them he gets top dollar but the extra few hundred $$ pales in comparison to the time and labor put into the vehicles.

Like Gdetrailer said, around here vehicles rust and fall apart no matter what you do.

A good cleaning before the trip and spend just a few minutes of each day keeping it clean. A few minutes each day can save hours when you get back.
