Detect Possibly Bent Happijac

I have a Happijac 4600 camper jack on my Eagle Cap truck camper. I believe the square tube is bent because it hangs and does not want to go up and down properly. It has a new motor assembly on it.

How can I tell for sure if the jack is bent?

Thanks in advance!
  • straight edge the tube, if bent go from there, some people have had luck pressing the bend out of the tube. Or have some that knows how the straighten tubing fix it. You can order a new tube from Happijac and you'll be good to go. If not the tube, you have some other issue.
  • Well, mine is on an 1160 too, 2008, so maybe that's my issue. I'll try to dig up the directions and give it a go!

Don't if this helps but I just had the same problem on my EC 1160. Found out water was getting into the screw jack causing it to sieze. Took the jack apart, per directions on this forum, now works much better.

  • How about fully extending the jack and putting a long straight edge on 2 adjacent sides?
