Anyone know how much the draw is when you have a diesel plugged into 110v when it's cold?

My '01.5 CTD block heater is 800W, plus I have 2 150W oil pan pads and a Napa trickle charger. Never felt the need to put anything on the NV5600 even at 50 below. Anyway, at those temps nothing runs smooth for a while.

My old NTC was 750W. My 97 CTD was ~300W. I don't know what my 03 has. Craig

750w is what the block heater on my duramax draws.

My 6.7 Ford doesn't draw much. I think I plugged it in only once in three years.

Every RV'er and Home owners needs one of these:

Kill-A-Watt

2011+ Ford 6.7 is 1000 watts, 8.3 amps at 120 volts (meter measurements agree). Owners manual says engine temperature stabilizes at 3 hours so I have a timer set for 3 hours before leaving for work.

They draw 700 to 750 watts.
Even the big rigs dont draw 1500.

The manual for my truck states 6 or 7 amps of power draw for my motor's block heater. I have it on a timer, so 3 hours before work it's pre-heating the engine block on my truck. By the time I go to start it, it's roughly 100 degrees in the cylinder head in an ambient temp of 14 to 20 degrees farenheit.

I believe the 7.3 Powersmoke came with a 1500w block heater.

They fall in to the neighborhood of 750W.

If you mean the block heater for a 7.3 ford diesel? I have seen between 6-8 amps drawn depending on the extension cord and voltage at the supply side. I am plugging in at a campground I try to home run directly to the pedastal rather then through the camper.

That must be why I bought the flux capacitor.
