Do all "off road" engines have to comply with EPA / DOT requirements? Do racing vehicles, not used on public roads, have to comply with EPA / DOT requirements?
The guy said he unregistered the truck to use it as a competition truck.
I don't know about "deleting", but I thought it was mostly removing the cat and modifying the engine programming? I am a little surprised it would cost $10,000 to get it back to EPA compliance.
It seems like there may be more to the story.
