Back in 1999 I bought my f250 cc v10 4x4 as a part time work truck and part time toy hauler. I have been happy with the gas engine, it is quiet and smooth and has been cheap to maintain. I drive it 3-4 times monthly so in my case mileage is a non-issue. I-m lucky if I drive it 4k per year. Hopefully by the time I buy my next truck (at this rate will be a while) I will have more time off and I may go diesel. Living with gas is nice though, quiet, smooth, easy on the transmission, plenty of power for smaller trailers and my slide-in. If your going to let your truck sit around to me gas makes sense. PS not to flame anyone but I have read many boasts of how diesel mileage was so good that trucks are being used as commute vehicles. No way for me, my bmw 325i is alot more fun to drive.
