The lowest temp I have been at is about 0F, and no gelling etc, did not plug anything in etc to get going, just a bunch of blue smoke initially. Many of the newer rigs are goo to about -15F with out needing to be plugged in, but it does help as Ihave read. Otherwise, here in the NW US, I am lucky to be below 20F, and do not worry about it.
A good anti gel additive would help and does help. I use a Bell industries product called Arctic Blend in the winter to make sure things do not go haywire while in the cascades, and when temps are below freezing here at sealevel.
