Never Done the Colorado Rockies but the Canadian Rockies are a real test for any tow vehical and trailer. If you watch your temps and slow down if things start to get hot you should be ok. My biggest problem towing with a small block (chev 350,3.73)on big grades was tranny and engine temps climb while the engine screams and the rig slows. That was pulling ~6500lbs. Not fun. A tranny cooler is a must and synth oil and trans fluid a good plan.
