Diesel vs gas......................
OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

New to the forum and happened to see this thread. I haven't taken time to look at all the posts (whew!) but thought I'd add my 2 cents since I've just been through this type of decision.
Recently retired, I started looking around and talking to various RV and pickup owners about what I needed to start doing some camping.
Decided on a 5ver RV. Began talking to many people about what truck to pull it with. Overwhelming response was a diesel pickup. Never had owned a diesel before. Even my farm tractor is a gasser! But nevertheless, I decided to take the plunge and bought an '05 Dodge 2500 with Cummins diesel. Wow! Love this truck! The torque is absolutely amazing! When not towing, I'm averaging over 19 mpg and that's mixed city/highway driving! I haven't checked it yet while towing. I now find myself having this strange compulsion to want to throw rocks at gas engined pickups! Seriously, though, I will never own another gas engined truck. In fact, I'm seriously considering going with a diesel auto next time I trade. Maybe the new Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 3.0L diesel.
