What's really amusing here (last few posts) is that someone who seems to have zero experience with owning and operating diesels is making wild generalizations and then resorting to juvenile tactics when someone disagrees.
It most certainly is possible to get 22+ mpg with a diesel pickup driving empty, if one drives conservatively. I've done it several times and my results are based on hand calculations, not a trip computer.
