Ones mileage will also depend upon the truck, the best I have gotten with my 05 dmax is 18.x. BUT, I do not expect much more than that, as I have a dually, which will generally speaking, get 1-3 mpg less than an equal equipped SW truck. Hence, why a couple of you may be saying 20 is not doable with a diesel.
In the end, buy what you feel serves you best, and move on from there.
