The last time I checked, I didn't buy my truck new.
many diesel owners bought used diesel powered trucks. My diesel option was 3400 dollars when new and it paid for itself the first 45000 miles. With over 115k its still makes cents over a comparable size gasser. The biggest plus is resale. Older diesels are in high demand right now in my area. I live in farm and ranch country and many used diesel trucks are going for more than BB prices.
If we are required to justify buying a diesel to pull a RV guess we could use the same logic to justify buying the RV or buying a ATV or a Boat or own a ........... .
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure why serious long haul commercial folks still prefere the diesel powerd trucks over a BB gas guzzler. Even a RVer can enjoy some of those advantages.
Some diesels still makes cents
