OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

Been towing a 5er for 15 yrs and one alt has been enough. Option may be cheap till you have to replace one on your dime. The only reason I can see is like was said before, running a big inverter for a welder etc.
Youngsters... The first vintage diesel pickups had one battery. Cold weather starting with glow plugs and heater grids is why they went to two batteries.
My 91' Cummins got along just fine on one battery......
