Pretty interesting study. I'm sure the diesel owners will chime in and dispute the results.
Also, I didn't see where the author included financing costs for each vehicle and add that into the 3 & 5 year TCO. Add that in then most of the diesel trucks would have no "financial" advantage. I highlight financial as this study is only that.
I don't think that any of us diesel heads are claiming to save money by owning one but we are saying that in the end a diesel don't cost any more than a gas but using your terms, the financial advantage in most of our cases is that we get a more capable truck for the same money. A diesel don't make sense for some but it most defiantly does for others.
