Do I have enough truck for trip?
I have a 2010 GMC sierra 1500 extended cab 5.3 engine with factory receiver, trans cooler and oil cooler. I also added a traier brake in the truck and also changed the rear gears from 3.08 to 3.73's and installed a superchip flashpaq to recalibrate the speedometer after the gear change.
As far as my TT it is a Rockwood 2304ds with a dry weight of 5,100 lbs. loaded it comes in just under 6,000 lbs.
We have an extended trip planned for around 3 months in July through the west coast from East TN through Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and then back down to East TN through South Dakota and Nebraska.
My question is do yall think that my set up will do ok even in the steep mountain roads through the Rocky Mountains. I know a larger heavy duty 3/4 ton diesel would be ideal but it is not in the budget for this trip. How will my truck do for this trip or is there anything else I can do to make my truck more capable for the trip. Thanks again!!!!
