Does anyone use an Instant Pot in their TC

Hope a reply from a class C owner is OK? When I bought my C I removed the dinette, replaced with a couple of small recliners. Along the wall I built a 12” W closed bench to compensate for the storage lost with the dinette. At the end section in the corner, behind the driver seat, I made the bench slightly wider to hold the 6qt Instant Pot. we run it on batteries (4x Battle Born) so it is used a LOT. Our C is only 24’ so almost a PUC.

I don't bother cooking chili from dried beans even at home. I can return at night from a day of hiking, photography, driving, exploring or whatever and have chili done in minutes. I precook and freeze meats the day I buy them. Chili would mean browning some chopped onions, adding meat, tomato, beans and seasonings. I like a mix of half rinsed and drained cooked pintos and a can of Campbell pork and beans. Start to ready to eat should be about 15 minutes.

I am amazed at the number of people who go camping and spend the majority of their time cooking, eating and cleaning up.

That is the point of the Insta Pot..Not to have to do that..After a hard day in the hills,being able to cook up something like homemade chili from scratch with dry beans in an hours time just makes sense while I am drinking a cold beer by the creek fixing my saw or cooling my feet...

It is something you can't do without a pressure cooker of some sort and more than one pan to clean up..I do not have one yet and am very curious about them..They are to save time cooking,not the other way around, from what I see about them.

I spend the majority of my time in the hills hunting/fishing or getting firewood,not cooking.(Laffin)

Personally I like to sightsee and do photography. I rarely sit around a campsite for more than a couple of hours a day. I usually don't return from my day's adventures until after dark. Then I want a meal that can be fixed quickly. I have a whole bunch of recipes for tasty meals that can be prepared in under 15-20 minutes or less. I would just stay home, if I had to sit around while a pot of dried beans cooked. It is amazing how different we all can be.

Hope you don't mind me having a little fun at your expense, but why would you think that it would be any different in the TC versus at home? Obviously you need a practical source of electric power, i.e. a generator or shore hookups, but other than that, it will be no different than at home.

It's a resistive heating appliance so you'd need substantial solar and battery capacity to run one without a generator or shore power, but it could be done.

The biggest issue is finding a place to keep it in the TC.

That was my first thought... "What makes it special with a TC?"

Btw....the joy of an instant pot, you set it and forget it. Believe me we don't sit around when camping, bicycles, 4 wheeling, and riding our trike. Our meal is done when we get back to the campsite. Yup, all of us are different.

Me too . With all the legal pot sales ,I thought it was some kind of marijuana appliance .
