Yes the smell and presence of food in a camper, in bear country, should make folks treat a camper like a bear box and keep the door closed during long periods of inactivity (sleeping or leaving camp). But aside from bears, or hot weather requiring the AC, if one has to lock themselves in the camper, they should probably find a better spot to camp, or at least recognize that not everyone is as soft as they are.
That’s half the reason we got a toyhauler. The ability to open it up, and make use of the space, light and the zip up canvas wall/screen is a pretty nice feature.
