dreaded roof repair

Found the dreaded soft spot in the roof , unfortunatly there was rotted wood , I have all the rot out , cut it away from the inside , the rubber roof is still intact . I need to know what type of glue to use to attach the new OSB to the rubber . Thanks
  • contact cement is fine but don't get it near any foam insulation, it will eat through it
  • I am doing less than a 2 sq ft area , I was thinking of contact cement , but wasnt sure . I caught it early on and its in the bunkhouse in the rear corner . I probably need about a pint .
  • I just put a epdm rooof on and old trailer. The plywood roof was sanded and in good shape. I used contact cement. Neoprene based contact cement is used with epdm but everyone says dont use it as it will destroy the epdm. I emailed Dico and asked why they only recommend their adhesive. They said because it is forgiving and most people couldn't manage the material if using contact cement.
It wasn't a large trailer and I did it in about 2 foot sections. It came out smooth as a baby's bottom.

My son has a 2008 Rockwood that leaked. It had a TPO roof with felt backing. PPL wanted $3500 to cut a lay the liner open like chest surgery so we said we can do that. We replaced about a 4 by 7 ft area running front to back towards the right side. We used the recommended dicor adhesive and it didn't stick well at all. It would have turned out far better with contact cement.

Contact them and ask them before you do it my way. The contact cement is about $29.00 a gallon and dicor adhesive is $90.00
