I agree with straight through.
Did the trip from northern N.H. to Palm Coast and back in February 2012.
Right through the tunnels without even thinking about propane. I didn't see any of those $$$ diesel pushers pulled over to twist some valves.
One bit of highway advice- I was born and raised in NYC. The 6-7 miles of roadway called the "Cross Bronx Expressway" (I-95 from the George Washington Bridge eastward) is one of the worst stretches of pavement in the east. And the truck traffic is heavy in a very crowded space, not to mention slightly insane auto drivers.
Think about crossing the Hudson not on the GW but further north at the Tappan Zee or I-84.
