Durango Windshield Replacment/Antenna Question (Pic) UPDATE

UPDATE

====== Went to the dealer yesterday here in Monterrey. The antenna is for the television in the back. Peeled right off, installed new windshield today and applied the antenna and connected it again. No issues. =======

The windshield on my 2005 Durango decided to split from one side to another. Replacement isn't expensive and covered by insurance. However, the windshield repair shop doesn't know what this antenna is for. It is a film type on the inside passenger side. There is also an exterior whip style antenna. I assume it is for the DVD/television that is installed in the roof over the backseat.

Question is, what is it for exactly? Thanks in advance.

Picture was taken at night and is the upper right hand corner of the windshield.

Yeah, I guess so. I don't have it either but apparently it makes a difference when swapping out the windshield. I guess that makes sense as there is a sensor and undoubtedly a wire.
  • Rain sensors turn on the wipers automatically? No I don't have that.
  • I just had windshield replaced and they asked if I had rain-sensing wipers. Any chance that's some kind of rain sensor?
  • Nope, no satellite. The only thing I could think of was for the television/DVD. I guess I will take it to the dealer in hopes they know what it is.
  • Wow, I don't know and the only way I know to know for sure is the electronically trace it to find out where it goes.
