I live in the country but we have aburn ban til Oct 1. Waiting to burn a huge brush-old barn refuse pile. I'm in Vol FD and they have agreed to to come and keep it under control. Bring Buns, will have German Hotdogs, the kind that snap, and real Black Angus Ground Beef 80% pure with enough fat to make them juicy. If you want S-Mores, bring them, I don't eat them.

We have been caught up with the retirement thing and no money to go anywhere with our trailer setup. Hopefully everything will get back to some normalcy next season with some big bills being paid off.

I have a pretty good backyard camp setup for my OFF-ROAD 14RT camper and sit out their just about every night burning my camp fire and watching the woods line behind my house for deer to come out. We sleep in the camper alot as well in the backyard... Great getaway but of course not the same as sitting near the creek somewhere.

My fire starter of choice is the the Strike-A-Fire fire starter sticks. I light both ends with a propane lighter and lay on the bottom between two larger logs. Then lay smaller sticks on top of the fire starter and once those get going then add the third large log on top of that. We have learned it takes three logs to sustain a fire haha... This starts a fire for us in any and all weather conditions... I buy the Strike-A-Fire starters in a 48 count box and then repack in the handy 8 pack you find at most places. Even COLEMAN carries these firestarters in a 8 ct pack..

Campfire and brandy on the rocks. Oh, the good life!!

Your killing me. Two weekends ago I was sitting around the campfire at Vogel State Park with good friends. Nobody was saying anything as we were all stairing at the fire and listening to the water cascade down through the rocks in the creek that ran alongside our site. Sigh, why cant it be that way everyday?

This coming weekend we will be in the same area however we were not able to get back into Vogel. All the sites were reserved and I did not want to wait and not find anything.

Can't wait.

I can' t think of anything more relaxing and soothing than sitting around a campfire, if it's at a campground or one's back yard. We have a fire pit in our back yard and absolutely love it. Until just a couple months ago, we did very little campground camping. Mostly it was right at home in our own driveway and we''d do campfires in the pit! Those home campfires were / are wonderful too!

Why don't you report them? Guess they never heard of a fuel/air explosion. This is so stupid. I am surprised that they did not have an accident. This type of activity is why all campers get a bad rep from those who do not camp and would like to see all National Park campgrounds closed.

I started chemo a couple months ago. That backyard firepit sure is a welcome alternative to NO campfire, when you can't go camping for whatever reason.

Camping...and surprisingly few others. Same thing at our favorite CG 3 weeks ago. The clock is ticking, folks.

Meet too last night neighbors backyard campfire, was nice but not the same as when camping.
